Former Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore remained behind bars Thursday, amid conflicting reports on whether he’d make his first court appearance one day after he was fired.

Moore, 39, was canned Wednesday in a shocking move, with the university citing an “inappropriate relationship” with a staff member .

Hours after the announcement, police confirmed Moore had been arrested a few miles south of the school’s football stadium. Cops detained Moore in Saline, Mich., to investigate an alleged assault, Pittsfield Township police said. He was held in Washtenaw County Jail overnight.

Authorities have not released any details on Moore’s arrest , and his immediate future remained murky on Thursday.
