CAÑON CITY, Colo. (KKTV) - Investigators said they have obtained an arrest warrant for a former Fremont County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) deputy after accusations of excessive force.
According to the Colorado Bureau of Investigations (CBI), the incident occurred at the Fremont County Jail in Cañon City on Oct. 14 at 10:02 p.m.
Luis Mora-Huerta, 62, is accused of placing his right hand on the front of a 57-year-old inmate’s neck in a “c-clamp” position while the inmate was against a wall.
When the inmate stated, “He’s choking me,” Mora-Huerta allegedly replied, “Yes I am”.
The affidavit notes that chokeholds are prohibited for peace officers, investigators said.
