CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Cedar Rapids Firefighters tackled a house fire on the 1300 block of 8th Street NW Thursday.
The call came in at around 11:07 a.m., and crews quickly arrived to find flames on the upper level of a two-story home. Firefighters used hose lines and assistance from an aerial unit to suppress the fire. By 11:24 a.m., they had the situation under control.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The Cedar Rapids Fire Department says the fire was likely sparked by an electrical contractor who contacted live wires, causing sparks to ignite insulation between wall spaces.
