DALLAS — After months of speculation , North Texas Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett is officially running for U.S. Senate, according to the Texas Democratic Party.
Crockett, who's become a national figure in the Democratic party, will face state Rep. James Talarico in the March 3 primary.
She filed to run just an hour before the filing deadline closed, and that decision triggered a political tsunami that reshaped the Democratic primary.
While no public polling shows Crockett beating any of the three Republicans running for the same office, the Democrat told us on Inside Texas Politics her internal polling is one of the main reasons she joined the race.
