Whataburger is closing two Alabama locations in the next week, including the downtown Auburn restaurant at North College Street and Magnolia Avenue, and a Tuscaloosa location located at 1130 University Blvd. Both locations will be closing on Dec. 15.

Why is Whataburger closing in Alabama?
A Whataburger spokesperson said the closures are part of the company’s ongoing strategy to review its operations. “As a growing brand expanding into new markets, we regularly conduct a business review of our locations to maximize opportunities for growth and keep Whataburger strong in the communities we serve. In a few cases that means closing restaurants.”
