Matt Campbell brought a few noteworthy off-the-field staff members with him to Penn State from Iowa State this week, but he has now made his first important on-field hires. And they’re all former Cyclones.
Taylor Mouser will be the Penn State offensive coordinator after his second season in the role at ISU. Ryan Clanton (offensive line) and Deon Broomfield (secondary defensive coordinator) will also follow Campbell.
Their names officially popped up with their titles in the Penn State directory on Friday. Penn State On3 pointed out the news first.
With these hires, that spells the impending departures of Penn State OC Andy Kotelnicki and OL coach Phil Trautwein. Broomfield’s role is somewhat ambiguous, however, which makes safeties coach Anthony Poindexter’s future unclear. Broomfi
