LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Jefferson County Public Schools canceled some of its events Thursday.

A JCPS spokesperson said any event scheduled for 7 p.m. or later will be canceled due to the incoming snow.

"Recognizing the forecast and the hazardous road conditions that typically accompany snow and ice events, the safety of our students and staff is our top priority," they said.

Louisville falls within the one-to-two-inch range on many of the weather models, but we are expecting a sharp cutoff of totals to the south and southwest. Higher amounts are possible the farther north and northeast you go from the Louisville Metro.

The spokesperson said a decision about Friday's school schedule will either be announced Thursday night or early Friday morning.
