Royal Mail has warned that there will be disruptions to deliveries this Christmas due to strain on the service.

One particular London postcode is amongst the longlist of affected locations, and that is, unfortunately, the south London borough of Brixton.

The reason for the delays , the postal service says, is due to increasing pressures due to “high levels of sick absence, resourcing issues and other local factors”.

Royal Mail has said it hopes to deliver six days a week but acknowledged that, in a few hotspots, this will “temporarily not be possible”.

It said that households in the affected areas might see delays to letters and parcels arriving in the busy run-up to Christmas.
