The literary prize panel will also feature Patricia Lockwood, Raymond Antrobus and Rebecca Liu.

Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker and BBC history and arts broadcaster Dame Mary Beard are among the judges for the 2026 Booker Prize.

Dame Mary, 70, will chair the judging panel for the the fiction book award, which will also include previous winner, author Patricia Lockwood, writer Raymond Antrobus and journalist and critic Rebecca Liu.

On chairing the prize, Dame Mary said: “I’m hugely looking forward to being part of the Booker team this year, and to getting down to business with my excellent fellow judges.

“Along with the excitement is a little apprehension – not least because, like many people, I’m quite a slow reader, so will have to learn how to speed up a bit.
