Subreddits for specific products or services can tend to be negative, much like online reviews. People are generally more motivated to complain about something not living up to expectations than to write about it doing its job. Over on r/AppleWatch, Redditor Level_Strategy_2271 couldn't help but brag about his Apple Watch working perfectly after being at the bottom of a lake for a year and a half.
While Apple Watches are advertised as water-resistant down to 50 meters, a year and a half in an lake is above and beyond the call of duty. To add to the impressive survival tale of this watch, the OP says they regularly wore it in the sauna, which Apple explicitly warns against. But Apple also advises against wearing them while showering or bathing, which many Apple Watch owners do regularly.
