Marple Newtown graduate Taylor Anderson-Heide was part of the U.S. women’s curling team led by Tabitha Peterson that qualified Thursday for the 2026 Olympics.
Anderson-Heide, playing as the lead, helped the U.S. defeat Norway, 8-4, in the women’s final of the Olympic Qualification Event at the Kelowna Curling Club in British Columbia, Canada. The quartet of Peterson, Cory Thiesse, Tara Peterson and Anderson-Heide will represent the U.S. in February’s Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina, Italy.
It’s the first Olympic appearance for Anderson-Heide in nearly two decades on the international curling circuit.
The Broomall native first made a splash at the 2012 Youth Winter Olympics in Innsbruck, Austria, playing alongside twin sister Sarah Anderson.
