Another Conservative member of Parliament is crossing the floor to the Liberals.
Markham-Unionville MP Michael Ma issued a statement tonight saying he is joining Prime Minister Mark Carney’s Liberals in the government caucus.
He is the second Conservative to cross in recent weeks; Nova Scotia MP Chris d’Entremont joined the Liberals in November .
Mr. Ma’s move gives the Liberals 171 seats in the House, one short of a majority.
He was elected for the first time in April and said in his statement that he entered politics to focus on solutions, not division.
Mr. Ma added that Mr. Carney is offering a steady, practical approach.
