Man accused in 2022 homicide of 79-year-old man deemed incompetent for trial a second time

CROWN POINT — A Gary man who faces charges for shooting and killing a man walking his dog in 2022 will be taken to a state hospital for psychiatric treatment after he was deemed incompetent to stand trial Wednesday.
