NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A group of New Orleans security leaders presented what could be a “permanent” solution for Bourbon Street barriers on Thursday, December 11.
Bourbon Street barriers came under the spotlight after the New Year’s Day terror attack , where a terrorist sped down the street and killed 14 people. A subsequent security report recommended turning Bourbon Street into a pedestrian walkway.

In the aftermath, the city installed a series of barriers, referred to as SecureGuards, to protect pedestrians during designated hours when the road is close.
