A plan to bring multi-family housing to Etiwanda Heights in northern Rancho Cucamonga will proceed to the City Council for approval, despite the concerns of residents who lambasted the proposal and its impacts on the area.
The city’s Planning Commission unanimously endorsed amending the Etiwanda Heights Neighborhood and Conservation Plan , which governs development in the area, at a meeting Wednesday, Dec. 10. In addition, the commission backed a developer’s plan to build 410 homes in the area, with some additional recommendations, based on the proposed Etiwanda Heights amendment.
Residents have pushed back against the proposals, saying neither are appropriate for the community nestled in the San Gabriel Mountain foothills.
