CHANDLER, AZ (AZFamily) — Some Chandler residents are expected to push back against a massive artificial intelligence data center project at Thursday night’s City Council meeting.
The proposed $2.5 billion data center would be built on 40 acres near Queen Creek and Dobson roads in south Chandler, an area already home to several data centers.
President Trump has issued an executive order this year to fast-track AI data center construction, calling it a matter of national security. But neighbors living near the proposed project are focused on noise concerns and quality of life issues.
“There could be some visual pollution there but noise pollution definitely,” said Ryan Foster, who lives near the existing data centers.
