More than 600 items, including artefacts linked to India's colonial past, were stolen during what police have called a "high value" burglary at a museum in Bristol, authorities said on Thursday. Avon and Somerset Police confirmed the theft took place on 25 September at a building housing Bristol Museum's British Empire and Commonwealth collection and released CCTV footage showing four white male suspects, according to PTI .
The collection, which documents Britain's historical ties with countries across the former empire, includes objects dating back to the late 19th century. Police said some of the stolen material carries major cultural significance, with Indian artefacts among the items targeted.
