ORANGE, Ohio – Council President Brent Silver and Councilman Philip Madden were both honored with resolutions at their final Village Council meeting Wednesday (Dec. 10).
It came as a surprise to both councilmen, as the items were not on the agenda for the meeting.
Silver, who has served six years on council, and Madden, who was elected to one two-year term, are both stepping down from council.
They did not seek re-election in November, and their terms expire Dec. 31.
After council completed its legislation Wednesday, Silver was about to ask if there were any comments from the audience when Councilwoman Staci Adelman Vincent politely interrupted him.
Vincent said she had two resolutions to introduce and then started to read the ones honoring Silver and Madden.
