LANESBORO, Minn. — The Planning and Zoning Commission will host a public hearing on December 17 at 6:15 p.m. at Lanesboro City Hall. The focus will be on a new project in collaboration with Minnesota Trout Unlimited. The project involves work along a 3,000-foot stretch of the South Branch of the Root River. Planned activities include selective tree harvesting, invasive shrub removal, streambank grading, and improvements for angler access. Enhancements to riparian vegetation and the planting of native trees and shrubs are also part of the plan. Community members are encouraged to attend the hearing to share their comments and feedback.
