MINDEN, La. (KSLA) - The holiday season is in full swing, and the community in Minden is looking to make this year extra special for kids in the foster care system.
“Today, we are celebrating Christmas before foster children, and they are being given presents by local churches that are from the Angel Tree. And so we’re having dinner and just a Christmas gathering, and then we’re going to send them home with their new presents,” said Leslie Santure, lead recruiter for Methodist Foster Care .
On Thursday, Dec. 11, foster families from across Minden got the chance to share a meal together at First Methodist Church. The event gave families and kids the chance to connect with one another.
