Jason Collins, a former NBA player who had a 13-year career, is currently fighting the biggest battle of his life.

Just a few months ago, fans sent well-wishes to Collins after it was revealed that he had a brain tumor . Fast forward today, Collins revealed that he has a Stage 4 glioblastoma, an aggressive type of cancer, during an interview with ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne.

“Imagine a monster with tentacles spreading across the underside of my brain, the width of a baseball. My glio is extraordinary for all the wrong reasons, and is ‘wild type’ — it has all these mutations that make it even more deadly and difficult to treat,” Collins explained further about his health battle.

Collins also divulged in the interview that he knew it was serious when he was pulled out by hospital staf
