FARGO — When Wyatt Sypiewski buried a backdoor pass to tie the game 1-1 late in the first period, Fargo again found itself — despite nearly a 2-to-1 edge in shots through two frames — in another dogfight.
The dogs got loose in the third period, however.
Sioux City scored three times in less than three minutes early in the third period and rolled to a 5-1 win in USHL play on Thursday at Scheels Arena.
“Obviously good first (period) but you probably got to come away with a lead or a couple in the back of the net,” said Fargo head coach Brett Skinner. “You let them hang around and then it just felt like, I don’t know if frustration sets in, but you start giving them a chance.”
