Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi will inaugurate the state’s first Watermanship and Life Guard Institute on Friday, alongside the launch of the seventh edition of the Konark Eco Retreat. The twin events mark a major advancement in Odisha’s efforts to enhance tourism infrastructure, water safety, and emergency response capabilities.

Modern Watermanship & Life Guard Institute Near Ramachandi Peeth

The state-of-the-art institute, built near Ramachandi Peeth by the Odisha Fire and Emergency Services Department at a cost of Rs 12 crore, aims to strengthen professional skills in water-based rescue operations.

The facility includes:

Barracks with accommodation for 100 trainees

An officers’ mess

Administrative offices

A canteen

Dedicated training modules
