A man accused of firing a gun at another vehicle during a road rage confrontation in Beverly, Massachusetts, is facing serious charges.

The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. Monday, beginning at a rest stop on Route 128 northbound. The plaza was briefly closed overnight.

Thomas Drequan Perkins, a 26-year-old Quincy man, has been charged with two counts of armed assault with intent to murder with a firearm, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and discharging a firearm near a highway, the Essex County District Attorney's Office said. He is also facing a second-offence count of carrying a firearm without a license and a subsequent offense of possessing ammunition without an FID card.
