Bhopal: Bhopal Traffic Police have concluded a major month-long enforcement campaign against traffic violations, issuing over 7,600 challans and collecting more than Rs 31 lakh in fines from motorists between November 1 and December 9.

The campaign’s primary focus was strict compliance with the Pillion Rider Helmet Rule, making helmets mandatory for all two-wheeler passengers over the age of four. Despite the special emphasis, the drive recorded 302 violations by pillion riders, resulting in fines totaling Rs 1.51 lakh. Additionally, 4,681 helmet-less riders and 778 drivers without seat belts were fined.
