Hubballi, Dec 12: The Congress government’s flagship five Guarantees scheme, launched for public welfare, is now drawing criticism for allegedly hindering the state’s development. Among these, the Shakti Scheme — one of the most popular guarantees — has severely impacted the financial condition of the North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC). The government has reportedly withheld a massive Rs 988 crore due under the scheme, adding to the woes of a corporation already operating under heavy losses.
