In the wake of the massive disruption in IndiGo’s flight operations last week, India’s aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has sacked four flight operations inspectors (FOIs) who were responsible for oversight on IndiGo and the airline’s preparation for the new pilot rest and duty duration rules. These FOIs — engaged with the DGCA on contract basis — have been relieved with immediate effect to join their respective parent organisations, as per the DGCA order.
