CHELAN COUNTY, Wash. — A Washington town previously devastated by wildfires is facing another natural disaster.

Several roads in Stehekin, a small town on the north end of Lake Chelan, have been blown out by flooding and debris flows, Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison told KING 5 on Thursday night.

An estimated 8-10 inches of rain fell in the area.

Those debris slides occurred on burn scars left over from the 2024 Pioneer Fire, which burned more than 37,000 acres.

Morrison said approximately 116 people are living in Stehekin, a town that is only accessible by boat. Many are without power, a resident told KING 5 on Friday.

Sheriff's deputies surveyed the town on Thursday. Morrison said the water treatment plant for the lodge was washed away, along with multiple roads.
