The Ministry of Education has directed all schools in the country to stop sending learners home or denying them entry into classrooms for not wearing school uniforms.
In a circular signed by Secretary for Education Ken Ndala, the ministry warns that any head teacher or official found violating this directive will face disciplinary action. The public has also been encouraged to report offenders directly to the ministry for swift intervention.
While the ministry maintains that school uniforms remain important, it says they must not become a barrier to education, especially for learners from low-income families.
