Mateos Garipian scored a goal and recorded an assist for St. Joseph (Mont.), No. 4 in the NJ.com Top 20, in its 3-0 shutout over Xavier (NY) at the Korpi Rink in Bayonne.

Gabe Florio made 10 saves for St. Joseph (1-1) in its first shutout of the season.

Garipian scored in the first period to give St. Joseph a 1-0 lead after receiving a pass from Shane Papaccioli.

Joseph Ciardullo netted a goal in the second period to give St. Joseph a 2-0 lead. Garipian and Papaccioli each recorded an assist on the goal.

Kyle Kondratowicz tallied the third St. Joseph goal of the game in the third period on a shorthanded opportunity.

Ryan Felenstein made 60 saves for Xavier, who falls to 0-2 against NJ opponents.
