Imphal: President Droupadi Murmu on Friday, December 12, paid floral tributes at the Nupi Lal Memorial Complex in Imphal on the occasion of the 86th Nupi Lal Day, a historic event that honours two major women-led uprisings against British rule in Manipur .
The President, who is on a two-day visit to the State, offered her respects to the “brave mothers of Manipur whose courage continues to inspire generations,” an official said. Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla also accompanied her and offered floral tributes at the memorial.
Earlier in the day, President Murmu visited the Shree Govindaji Temple at Palace Compound, located about 2 km from the memorial, and offered prayers. She is scheduled to travel to the Senapati district later to interact with mem
