WHY DON’T THINGS EVER CHANGE?

As I watched the television special on Live Aid from 1985 and Live 8 from 2005, I wondered why nothing has changed. Forty years after Bob Geldof dreamed of ending poverty and starvation among the poorest nations on the planet, these scourges are still killing thousands daily. The United Nations is still moribund, politicians are still willingly blind to the plight of others who can’t vote for them and large corporations still care more about their bottom lines than the lives of starving people all over the world.
