The main outcome of Thursday’s game for the Hawaii women’s basketball team is its five-game losing streak is over.
As for fixing its turnover issues, it was a mixed bag of results for Hawaii coach Laura Beeman after watching her team commit 19 in a 61-47 win over Hawaii Hilo at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.
A crowd of 607 saw Hawaii get back to .500 at 5-5 with its first win since beating Portland to claim the Bank of Hawaii Classic tournament championship on Nov. 23.
All 15 rostered players got into the game for UH. Freshmen Bailey Flavell and Kyra Webb led the Rainbow Wahine in scoring with nine points and senior Imani Perez finished with eight points, 10 rebounds and two blocks in her first game of the season coming off the bench.
“It’s always good to get a dub,” Beeman said
