FAIRMONT — Last season was a fairly successful one for Fairmont Senior boys’ basketball, as they finished their year with an 18-6 record and a trip to the WVSSAC Class AAA State Basketball Tournament Semifinals, where they were defeated by eventual state champions Bridgeport.

But for a program that had been to three consecutive state championship games and had won two of those contests, it left a bit to be desired. Now the Polar Bears face a new season with new players and new challenges, and it’s up to veteran head coach David Retton to reformulate and get his program back to a state championship standard. kAm“t249 J62C J@F >62DFC6 J@FC E62>[ 2?5 5:5 J@FC E62> >2I:>:K6 E96:C DEC6?8E9D 2?5 5:5 E96J >2I:>:K6 H92E E96J 925[ 2?5 9@A67F==J H96?
