Cambodian media released footage Friday showing extensive damage to a residential area in the country's Pursta province close to the border with Thailand.

Cambodia's government accused the Thai military of attacking civilian targets, an accusation Thailand has denied.

It comes after heavy fighting flared along the two countries’ border and both sides accused the other of violating their sovereignty along the contested border region.

About two dozen people were reported killed this week, while hundreds of thousands have been displaced on both sides of the border.

Thailand has carried out airstrikes, while Cambodia has fired rockets causing havoc. The fighting was sparked by a skirmish on Sunday.
