A public meeting heard powerful testimony from parents, clinicians and campaigners as Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar and deputy leader Jackie Baillie joined local candidates Mark Griffin and Ayeshah Khan to oppose the SNP Government’s planned downgrade of Wishaw Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
People packed into the town's Jim Foley Community Centre for the gathering, which was organised in collaboration the Wishaw Neonatal Warriors campaign group and brought together families who have relied on the unit’s life-saving care.
The loudest message of the night was clear - the future of Wishaw Neonatal Unit is on the ballot paper at the election in May.
