Out of 4.99 lakh hectares of railways land, 1068 hectare under encroachment: Ashwini Vaishnaw

With a vast portfolio of approximately 500,000 hectares, Indian Railways faces the challenge of over 1,000 hectares being illegally occupied. The government has initiated a robust campaign to clear these encroachments. As the land is recovered, it will serve dual purposes: advancing critical railway infrastructure and enabling commercial development on areas that aren’t urgently required.
