A Denver oolice officer was arrested Thursday on suspicion of sexually assaulting someone while on duty and tampering with evidence in a separate case, city officials said.
Henry Soni was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and two counts of unlawful sexual conduct by a peace officer for a Nov. 4 incident, the police department said in a news release.
Soni was on duty at the time of the assault but was not responding to a call for service, according to the agency.
Soni also faces charges for his handling of a different investigation, including attempting to influence a public servant, forgery, evidence tampering and misconduct.
He was hired by the Denver Police Department in 2024 and most recently worked as a patrol officer in District 3, department officials said.
