Michigan's Mega Millions lottery drawing Friday, Dec. 12, will be worth at least $70 million, but many lottery players are likely to overlook that "small" prize as the Powerball jackpot tops $1 billion on Saturday night.
Mega Millions will be drawn at 11 p.m. Dec. 12, but if you're holding out for the "big money," that drawing is at 10:59 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13. The Michigan Lottery estimates the top prize will be at least $1 billion ahead of the drawing with a cash value of $461 million.
While chances of actually claiming the overall jackpot remains incredibly small — about 1 in 292 million — lightning has struck in Michigan before.
