Bestselling author Joanna Trollope has died at the age of 82, her heartbroken family have confirmed. Her daughters Louise and Antonia shared the news in a statement, writing: "Our beloved and inspirational mother, Joanna Trollope, has died peacefully at her Oxfordshire home on 11th December, aged 82."

The beloved writer, who was called the 'Queen of the Aga Saga' thanks to her books based in in middle England, died at home in the Cotswolds.

Her most famous books include The Rector's Wife, Marrying the Mistress, Daughters in Law and City of Friends. She has sold over eight million copies of the best-selling series.
