Freida McFadden would like to set the record straight.

The bestselling author sat down with Jenna Bush Hager for an “ Open Book with Jenna” podcast episode , which aired on Dec. 11, to discuss her double life as a thriller author and physician.

McFadden, who writes under a pseudonym, is notoriously prolific. “The Intruder,” her latest, came out in October, and she has another, “Dear Debbie,” coming in January. Meanwhile, an adaptation of McFadden’s novel “The Housemaid” starring Amanda Seyfried and Sydney Sweeney is out in December.

Her output, combined with her job as a medical professional, has people questioning whether McFadden uses artificial intelligence to write her books.
