Washington Sundar played only six games for the Gujarat Titans last Indian Premier League (IPL) season due to a fixed team combination. However, GT head coach Ashish Nehra hinted that if Sundar remains fit, he will be utilised much more this season.

Washington’s role in the Indian team has been a topic of confusion — whether he is primarily a batting all-rounder or a specialist spinner who can also bat proficiently.

Nehra, however, has no such confusion and believes Washington’s primary skill is being a top-class batter. On conducive surfaces, he becomes a complete package, with his off-breaks adding to his value.
