Beachwood resident Etty Hoffman, who was born and raised in Cleveland, celebrated her 100th birthday with over 150 guests on Nov. 29 at Park Synagogue in Pepper Pike, where she has been a lifelong congregant. The evening included a Havdallah service, blessings, klezmer music and dancing.
Hoffman’s 103-year-old sister, Geraldine Powers, her four children,
13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, along with cousins, nieces, nephews and friends helped her celebrate. Some guests encountered snowstorms and flight delays to attend.
