LAWRENCE — Darryn Peterson’s return to action this past Sunday allowed Kansas basketball to see what things could be like with him back in the lineup while acknowledging it will take some time before everything is operating as desired.
Peterson contributed to an 80-60 win against Missouri but also wasn’t feeling well due to being sick. The team appreciated having the freshman guard back on the court, making things easier for his teammates, but it also didn’t play as well with him as it will when it has that in-game chemistry at full-go again. Peterson, who’d missed the past seven games as he dealt with a hamstring injury, finished with 17 points and three rebounds in a little more than 20 minutes of playing time.
