There are a lot of questions surrounding the health of Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt, but one of his teammates in Pittsburgh seems convinced that he'll fight through his current issues.
The news broke on Thursday that the ninth-year veteran, who has recorded 53 tackles and seven sacks this season, was at a local hospital undergoing evaluations on his lung after experiencing discomfort at practice on Wednesday. An official announcement from the Steelers said that Watt's status for this coming Monday's game against the Dolphins is in question, and that head coach Mike Tomlin would provide more updates at "an appropriate time."
On Thursday, reporters caught up with Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and asked him about his teammate. And while there was no new information to share, Rodgers did.
“I would never bet against anybody in the Watt family of being able to deal with something small or large and getting back on the field as quickly as possible," Rodgers said
The Steelers will hope Watt can get back in action as quickly as possible. The four-time first-team All-Pro and former NFL Defensive Player of the Year is a vital piece of the team's defensive lineup, as he is fifth on the team in total tackles and 18th in the league in total sacks this season.
