ATLANTA ( ANF /Gray News) — Authorities in Georgia say a woman will spend the rest of her life in prison after she beat her 4-year-old son to death for not using the toilet.

According to the district attorney’s office, Sophia Williams, 43, was found guilty of two counts of felony murder, three counts of aggravated battery and four counts of first-degree cruelty to children in August.

On Tuesday, she was sentenced to life without parole plus 10 years.

In March 2022, DeKalb County police were called to an apartment on Tregoney Drive, where they found her son, Anthony Vice, unresponsive on the living room floor.

Police said the boy was taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, where he was pronounced dead.
