Bill Belichick is almost a year into his college football coaching role, but nothing seems promising as of now heading into next year. The North Carolina fans were expecting Freddie Kitchens, a former assistant on the four-time Super Bowl champion New York Giants staff, to return for another season. Instead, Belichick stepped in and shut the door on that reunion before it even started.
According to On3’s latest reports, Kitchens will not return as UNC’s offensive coordinator after the Tar Heels suffered one of their worst offensive seasons in recent memory.
Belichick, who worked closely with Kitchens for years in New England, reportedly supported UNC’s decision to move on and end the return plan that fans had been questioning all season.
