MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) - One person is dead and three others are hurt after a crash involving a semi-truck on Thursday night in Marshall County.
Officials say it happened just after 9:30 p.m. on U.S. 30 just west of the intersection with U.S. 31.
According to police, a 47-year-old Maryland man was heading west in a semi-truck when he hit a pickup truck that was sitting stationary on the shoulder of the roadway behind a white utility truck that was being towed.
Police said the driver of the truck, 26-year-old Thomas Diener of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, was ejected due to the force of the crash. He died at the scene.
According to police, two other passengers in the pickup truck and the driver of the towing vehicle were taken to the hospital with injuries.
