ATLANTA — Necole Williams sat in a Fulton County courtroom on Thursday with her head in her hands as one witness recalled the moments Bre'Asia Powell was shot.
Powell was shot and killed at a graduation party outside of Benjamin E. Mays High School on May 28, 2023. Police said one other person, a 16-year-old at the time, was shot and hospitalized. Officials said the gathering outside the school was unauthorized.
Three suspects, who were teenagers at the time of the shooting, were in the courtroom for the second day of the murder trial. A fourth suspect previously took a plea deal and is serving five years in prison.
Williams, Powell's mother, spoke with 11Alive's Molly Oak outside the courtroom after she took the stand.
