Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA), the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, revealed that lawmakers had unreleased Jeffrey Epstein photos that are "incredibly disturbing."
Garcia spoke to reporters after the committee released a trove of photos that included prominent figures like President Donald Trump and former President Bill Clinton.
"Obviously, just last night, we received about 95,000 photographs from the Epstein estate," Garcia explained. "I want to be clear. Our committee oversight Democrats have gone through maybe about 25,000 of them so far."
"So there's an enormous amount of photos that we have not gone through," he continued. "It will take days and weeks to ensure that we go through those photos and that a redaction is done in the appropriate way."
Garcia noted that only 20-30 photos had been released so far.
"We will continue to put out more photos in the days and weeks ahead," he remarked. "But I just caution folks at the redaction process and ensuring that we are protecting the survivors and the women who were abused by Epstein are protected."
"The thing right now that's the most important is there is one man who has the power to release the files and get to the truth and bring justice to the survivors, and that's Donald Trump," he added. "And Donald Trump right now needs to release the files to the American public so that the truth can come out and we can actually get some sense of justice for the survivors."
"Some of the other photos that we do not put out today are incredibly disturbing."
